Our Welcome to Raleigh, Y'all Party Raised More Than $10,000.

Exciting news: At our Welcome to Raleigh, Y'all launch party at Babylon on Friday, February 24, we raised more than $10,000 to support our campaign of welcoming signs and stickers and the necessary immigration work of both the United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and Uniting NC. We surpassed our fundraising goal for the evening, and we couldn't be happier. A huge thanks to everyone who attended and made the evening such a fundraising success.

We’d also like to thank our partners and sponsors for the night. There’s Babylon, our wonderful host for the night; Escazu, who provided the amazing dessert and the take-home chocolates; Big Boss Brewing Company, whose Big Operator and War Hawk hit all the spots; and Raleigh Immigration, a local law firm that has assisted the campaign with a generous sponsorship. An enormous debt of gratitude to Baldwin&, who made it all possible by making the Welcome to Raleigh, Y'all idea come to life, and Kung Fu Nation, who helped us launched Welcome to Raleigh, Y'all T-shirts Friday night. (They'll be on the website this week!) And thank you, of course, to our great DJs for the night, Made of Oak and Luxe Posh.

During the event, Angela Salamanca, a CO&ST board member and the owner of Raleigh's Centro, and Samad Hachby, the owner of Babylon, spoke about the impacts of immigration in Raleigh. And Julie Holt and Hila Moss spoke about the work they did to aid North Carolina's immigrant communities at USCRI. We also announced our Welcome to Durham, Y'all campaign, which we'll launch in earnest next week.

Until then, thanks again, and help us spread these signs and stickers throughout Raleigh.
